The Beauty of Nature

Nature is everywhere.  It surrounds us, it nourishes us, and it is essential to all life.  In the truest sense of the word, nature is devoid of human activities and exists in many forms.  Whether it is the trees, the animals or the oceans, nature is awe inspiring.  Two aspects of nature that truly inspires me are tigers and flowers. 

Untamed tigers have the strength, the speed and the agility like no other animal.  Flowers have the color, the softness and the fragrance like no other plant.  Tigers blend well in nature as they are stealthy creatures whereas flowers blend well in nature as they come in all shapes and forms.  As polar opposites, tigers and flowers are typically strangers; but in rare instances when they are found together, they form a combination of ferocity and beauty that only nature can provide.

My piece came to fruition because of this contrast between the tiger and the flowers, thus illustrating that nature was my inspiration.

                      Creative challenge: "Color combo"

  I am comfortable with my life.  I am a wife, mother of three (28, 21, and 13), sister, aunt, and grandmother of one.  I am a paper crafter.  I love mixed media scrapbook pages.  I love watching mixed media crafters on YouTube.  I am 50, a homemaker with a college education.  I was a social worker until my youngest was born.  My life isn’t perfect.  I have hypothyroidism and I get tired easily.  I sometimes take two naps a day.  My skin is always dry, my hair sheds constantly and it has become thin over time, so therefore I like wearing wigs.  Yes, in this mixed media page of me, I am wearing a wig.  I am comfortable wearing one, too, and letting people know it’s not all my own hair.  My life is comfortable.  I am not stressing about anything.  I am doing what I love and enjoy: scrapbooking and being there for my family.

My first born, my only daughter and my love forever.  This is for CSI: Color, Stories, Inspiration: Challenge.   I used the colors: sky blue, white, bright lime green, Barbie pink.  My evidence and testimony clues are love is handwritten, mixed media background, flowers, hearts,  leaves, and inspiration word is forever.
